(HealthDay News) -- It's important to be at a healthy weight before you become pregnant.
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics suggests these pre-pregnancy regimens:
Eat a healthy, balanced and nutritious diet. Cut back on sugary treats, such as desserts, sodas and sweets.
Make sure there's a healthy balance between calories consumed and calories burned each day.
Exercise at a moderate intensity for about 30 minutes on most days of the week. At least three days per week, add in strength training to help build muscle.

“When it comes to losing weight, remember these words: “viscous fiber.”
It’s a type of dietary fiber that turns into a thick gel in our stomach and intestines, taking up more space!
Research shows this creates a feeling of fullness that can help us eat less over time and lose weight. So, which foods contain the most viscous fiber?
Go for apples, barley, legumes (like beans, peas, lentils) or a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal.”
I knew bananas were a healthy snacking choice, but I had no idea they can do THIS!!!!
These lil’ beauties are more than just a fruit to leave rotting on your counter. The health benefits are quite amazing. The list of benefits seems to go on forever. Bananas are the most consumed fruit in the world, beating out apples and oranges, combined! And one more random fact, bananas are actually classified as a berry!
So, the most important thing to look at when choosing your bananas is the colour! Too yellow and they’re not very sweet…too brown?…well, actually….there may not be such a thing. The riper the banana the richer it is in TNF or Tumor Necrosis Factor which is a protein that helps detect and eliminate abnormal cell growth in the body!! It’s essentially aiding our immune system. Amazing stuff!!! ~Lisa D
